Trip to LA

Scott and I had a long weekend due to President's Day - so we decided to make it a little bit longer (we didn't miss that many classes) and head out to LA to see Scott's sister. We had been talking about going to LA since we got married, so when we found $219 roundtrip, non-stop flights we new the time was right.

After a lovely 6 hour flight we made it to LAX, Andrea (Scott's sister) picked us up in her bright blue bug.

Later that day she took us by the iCarly studio. Its a Nickelodeon show that she works on. She mainly works behind the scenes but she has had a couple of roles, which makes her a TV star in my book.

Scott and I got to get on the set. It was pretty cool, even though they weren't filming that day. I bet there are a lot of preteens that would be really jealous!
We then went down to where there are stars on the sidewalks and all sorts of people dressed up as characters from movies (some costumes were pretty awesome...others were not). We also stopped by the Kodak theater where they are about to do the Oscars.

And of course, who could pass up the Hollywood shot. Scott isn't really that much taller then me of course - but he was pouting after the first picture of this was taken because I looked taller...this made it all better. What a good wife I am - almost getting run over twice, just to uphold my hubby's ego... lol.

The weather in LA wasn't the best while we were there, but we made the most of it. Andrea and Dave (her boyfriend) had a marbles board, which is a lot of good wholesome fun.

We also pretended like it was Scott's birthday wile we were out there. Andrea got him a Pourch Pie - a hot and fresh chocolate pie delivered right to your door. It was great, this is us singing Happy Birthday to him.

The weather was nice one day and we made it down to the beach where I found the coolest sunglasses ever.

Its kinda pretty down there - I think this trip made Scott want to move out to CA more than ever.

There was a juggler on the beach who was pretty good - these are his razor sharp knives....I don't really think they were that sharp but oh well.

These are made out of nuts and bolts, etc. They really looked like the movie characters. Scott really wanted to bring home a big one of an Alien attacking a Preditor - but they were expensive and it would have been very hard to carry onto a plane.

Maybe the most awesome place that we went was call the Magic Castle. It is a members only club - Andrea is lucky enough to have a friend that is a member, so we all got to go. No pictures were allowed inside, but I got to be an assistant for one of the big shows. We also got to see several other magicians, including Andrea's friend.

One day we went for a ride up in the hills - it was really pretty. I don't think that I would want to live in a lot of those houses though because of the risk of a mud slide.

Then the last day came all too soon - its amazing how fast 6 days goes by.
