Weeks 14, 15, & 16

Week 14
Week 15
Week 16

The past two weeks

Okay so its been awhile since I have had time to blog. Scott and I both started our internships, and we are both really enjoying them. We have already completed 2 weeks, that's 20% or 1/5 of the way done.
Scott is working at iJet, as I have said before. One day he was filling out his paper work and the lady he was working with told him that she loved our wedding photo. Kinda strange since he hadn't shown it to anyone at work. Turns out that someone had been googling the company and our blog came up....because I had typed in the name iJet...crazy how it works. I knew the blog was public, but I never figured it was google worthy. Crazy.
As for my job - turns out the economy may keep me from getting a job offer but I remain hopeful for now. Last year they gave offers to a bunch of interns with the idea that an average number of people would leave the FTC due to retiring or going into private practice. Due to the economy, neither happened - so they now have more attorneys then they need. So I need the economy to pick up so that people leave and they can hire me. I keep hearing that it is supposed to pick up the 3rd quarter of this year....I hope so.

Was that gas....

Nope it was definitely a baby kicking me! Woohoo!!! First time, that I know it was him/her for sure! Here it is early (9ish...lol) Saturday morning, Scott and I are still laying in bed...and bam...little foot right into my hand. Wasn't sure after the first one but then there was a second one....and then nothing....and then a third one...start elbowing Scott ....he doesn't want to wake up...."Scott....the baby is kicking me..." that got him up. Then I felt it again, so I let Scott put his hand where mine was and it kicked two more times but he never felt anything....didn't figure that he would but why not let him try. Very cool experience - 6 little kicks. What a great Saturday morning.

Hearing the Heartbeat

Scott and I had a doctor's appointment today where we got to hear the kiddo's heartbeat. At first all she could seem to find was my tummy growling but we finally got to hear it loud and clear!
The doctor said that all of the test they had ran at the last appointment had good results. She also told me that my weight gain (3 pounds so far) was just about perfect for 14 weeks. She encouraged us to have a 2nd ultrasound, so five weeks from today we will get to see our kiddo again.

Presents from Rebecca

I got an unexpected package from Rebecca the other day. Inside were these really cute baby outfits and presents for the older siblings :) I had never given the kitties cat nip before and Kiko went crazy for the catnip mice, Jude on the other hand preferred the wrapping paper in the box - in fact he kept trying to eat it so we had to take it away... Thanks Rebecca!

Presents from Andrea

Scott's sister sent us this really cute card and the movie Knocked Up. I have to admit that I cried at this movie...to the point that Scott paused it and offered to shut it off completely. Not that it is a sad movie - I was just so mad/upset when the guy was yelling at the girl when she was at the doctor's office. Anyways - with the exception of all of the yelling and anger I liked the movie.

This is the inside of the card...I knew the front of it was too sweet.

Week 13

So I finally hit the 2nd trimester, things are supposed to be getting better right? Well my weeks 11 and 12 I had been feeling really good...however, week 13 was awful...sick every morning. Its like the Hector (pet name for the kid) knows that I need to be studying for my finals and wants to avoid my homework as much as I do. I took my first final yesterday, and I hope that it went alright...but I still have a 20 page paper to write, so he had better start behaving :)

Our baby stuff Saturday

Last weekend Scott and I went to a preschool's fundraiser where all of the parents bought baby stuff in to sale. We got some maternity clothes (including a pair of brand new jeans for $1), six board books for 50 cents a piece and three awesome toys. One is a music cube, and two are the things with the beads on the wires (see picture I'm bad at describing). We also met up with a couple of people from craigslist to get some other used maternity clothes.

Even though it is still several months before the kiddo shows up and a fair bit longer then that before it can play with the toys....its still pretty awesome that we got them, because they are already getting used...

Here you can see several of the toys and the books that we got. Maybe we are a bit ahead of the game - but it sure was fun to get kid stuff, and Kiko loves it :)

In these three watch Jude - I was playing with the toys and Kiko and he was very interested. He actually started out up on the wine cabinet but had made it to the book shelve before Scott noticed and got the camera. He would stay at each place with his butt wiggling getting ready to pounce. :) You can also see some of the maternity clothes that I got. Some of them I don't know how often I will wear, but it came in the same bag as some I really liked and it was a take it or leave it deal.
