Christmas

Scott and I have spent our Christmas vaction traveling around to see family and friends. We are getting ready to leave for Jamaica tomarrow, so our next post will have lots of beautiful photos. So far this trip we have done Christmas at our appartment for just the two of us, traveled to Manhattan to visit friends, went to Winfield for a wedding and Christmas at Scott's mom's house, up to Topeka to visit more friends, over to Lawerence to see Kyle and then finally back down to mom and dad's house to get ready for Jamaica. We will get to do Christmas here at home when we get back. Keith will be out of the military and back in Kansas. Mom is happy to have all of her chicks under the same roof for a Christmas celebration - the date really isn't the important part. Then Scott and I are driving back to DC on the 9th, what a wonderful way to spend a birthday :P

Here are a variety of pictures from all of our travels so far.

This is our little tree at our appartment in DC. We can't have a big tree until we get a bigger place and Kiko gets old and lazy - she would love to climb it and knock all of the ordiments off.

Jeff, Scott, and Alex enjoying a shot in Manhattan. Alex recently found out that he is going to be a dad - congratulations!

Scottie, Kathy (his mom), and Andrea (his sister) at Charli's wedding.

Dancing at the wedding - next time I will know to flip the picture before I upload them - but for know I am too lazy to redo it.

The four of us (Scott, Andrea, Dave (her BF), and me) helped the nieces make sweatshirts for their parents. It was a great time painting their hands and feet, and amazingly we didn't get paint anywhere in the appartment.
Scott's mom got me a frog for Christmas, it looked like a prince that needed to be kissed. Apperently Scott didn't the frog making a move on his woman so he is kicking the frog.
Party at the Katers!
Even Mike and Aubri made the trip from NC to be there - of course I'm sure that they were also visiting family but the party was the highlight of their trip I'm sure.
That night there was a huge ice strom and even a tornado warning. There was ice on everything the next morning - not too surprising in KS in Dec except for the fact that it was 60 degrees the day before.
Gotta love Kyle's mustash!

Our Home

So I think that I am finally going to try and start doing this on a regular basis. Hopefully next semester I will have more free time then I did this semester. I figure its a good way for people back home to keep up with us, even if we aren't that exciting. Since a lot of people have never been out here I figure that I would put up a couple of pictures of our little place. We are heading home for Christmas and then off to Jamaica so there should be some good pictures after that.

This is our lobby - when we first walked in we thought that it would be too expensive for us - but it turned out to be the cheapest rent we found...we got a good deal

So I thought I had some newer images of the appartment - but I guess not and I'm currently working at the library so I can't take more right now. This is part of our living/dining room when we were moving in.

Here is our long and skinny kitchen - between these two pictures you can see about a third of the appratment - so its not a real big place but it is so much bigger then most of the apartments we looked at out here (and this one was still cheaper then all the others).

And of course no tour would be complete without a picture of the kitties. Kiko is the black and white one and Jude is the other. Kiko made the trip from Kansas and we got Jude after we got here. They can be obnoxious sometimes but I don't know what I would do without them.

So I have no idea what I'm doing - But I should be doing homework...
